HELP PLEASE PCI-e = VGA ????

Hey guys. I'm building my first pc and I just got done installing teh CPU. However, the video I'm watching says to connect the PCI-E cable (6+2) and I'm not sure if it's the same as a VGA cable. Also, my graphics card only has 2 6 pin slots. Can someone explain what I'm supposed to do?

What you do is find the PCI Power Cables from your motherboard (probably have 2 (6+2) pin right?) what you do is discard the 2 extra pin and plug 2 6 pin into the GPU.

I know it can get confusing sometimes but it'll work out.
