Hi guys, im playing witcher 3 and when im riding in horse while sprinting it suddenly stop for a moment, i checked the MSI afterburner and it shows that i have a GPU usage drop from about 80% down to 0-3% for a second and also power drop a bit. the temps are good and also fan speed. it doesn't happen always but it worries me that i might have a defective GPU. Is this normal?

My specs are:
Processor: i5 4690
Motherboard: asus sabertooth z97 mark1
GPU: palit gtx 970 jetstream
Memory: 1x gslick 8gig
Cooler: nh-d14
PSU: seasonic x650 gold plus

First, does your fps drop with it?
If you are not experiencing any fps drops it may be that some short parts of the game doesn't require GPU power for a second or two.

Also your PSU is definitely enough, however do you hear any coil whine in the GPU or PSU? Perhaps the GPU or PSU has gone wrong.

Has this happened out of the blue, was this problem non existence before or was it always present or does this happen in other games.

hmmm... not too sure how often it is. just noticed this early this morning(our time) when i played witcher 3. When i checked the MSI AB it just shows those readings and became worried since i bought this all just 1 week ago. is this safe? or this is a big problem/issue?
