Help Please- Red Dead Redemption GOTY on ps3 12gb?

I am looking forward to buy ps3 12gb and red dead redemption goty.
I will buy a caddy and hdd when I save money.
In the meantime, will red dead redemption goty edition work with ps3 12gb. I am worried as I heard it takes up 6gb space and ps3 requires double space to install (after updates, the space will be less than 12gb)

It should be fine but if there isn't enough space for updates then you dont have to do them, only thing is you wouldn't be able to play online until ou get a larger HDD, you can get a decent size quite cheaply
