Hi guys,
fairly new to all this pc gaming lark and I have to say im loving it. At the moment im running an AMD FX-4100 Black edition CPU, 4GB kingston ddr3 1333mhz, VTX 3d Raedon HD 7770 all nicley placed on a Gigabyte 78lmt-USB 3 motherboard powered by a Powercool X-Viper 750w PSU.
Im really trying to get my rig to run the most demanding games displaying the best possible graphics. Am I better off getting a newer and better GPU or is it worth adding a second GPU. Same as the one ive got? If so how do I set it up. Any help would be fantastic.
Cheers guys

The CPU is going to bottleneck any of the faster gpus, the fx4100 isn't a very good gaming cpu. Also the low quality power supply is a wreck waiting to happen, its a very poor quality unit. Its a good thing your system isn't stressing it. I would suggest replacing it when possible with a better unit like Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, or Antec to name a few.

So lets say i have no budget. What would be the best setup. The ultimate gaming machine of today?

see I like this answer. The only problem is ive previously been told that my psu is pretty much rubbish, plus im not really sure which cards are compatible with my mobo? Like i said orignally....im really new to all this.
Got my PS4 pre ordered. Just worried its going to be a massive failure to me in the graphics department, hence why upgrading my pc seems to be the way forward.
Would the new R9 290x run with my current system?
Then maybe upgrade CPU to I5/I7???
Oh yea...plus another 4GB or ram.lol

If i had to builf it right now it would be this

Plus ~$1000 for a custom water loop. Also many builders will do it differently. I may have went with the r9-290x, but no waterblocks are out yet and in a 4-crossfire setup the cards would just get too hot for reference coolers.

if you pre-ordered a ps4 then there is no reason to upgrade your pc...save your money and buy a brand new powrful pc next year

If you can only afford to slowly upgrade the system, I would first replace the PSU as you can get a much better unit for $60, and get 8Gb(2x4Gb of DDR3 1600 or faster with a latency of 9 or less). Then upgrade the CPU to an FX-8350(your current board supports it), then upgrade the GPU, then a motherboard upgrade(760g isn't all that great) and a better cpu cooler for a bit of a cpu OC.

i don't understand why you want to waste money

Thank you so much for the in depth response. Much appreciated. Got some seriosu saving to do. I have just ordered another 4GB ram. With my current PSU. What would be the best CPU and GPU i could safley run without any overheatingv or any other issues? Preferably staying with AMD. Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks in advance :)

I dont want to waste money. I pre ordered my PS4 as there are some exsclusives that will never come to PC. I want to upgrade my PC slowly because there are games on PC which look feel and just generally are better. Gotta have a hobby right?
