Lets try not to laugh here but i have 250 dollars and i want to build the best possible computer for the price. I'm looking at this so far

1. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4016440&sku=A455-2408

I have a sata hard drive, and optical drives already. I want to overclock to about 3.3(which is what Ive heard is safe with a basic cpu cooler. What do you guys think? Is there anything better for the price? I am broke so please no jokes about the pricing thanks in advance

Hello crazysimon,

my name is Simon too but that is not the point here. I think it would be a wise idea and save your money. Cutting corners has never done anyone any good and even if you manage to overclock, you will have other parts that will be bottlenecking your system.

I know this sounds conservative, but sometimes patience is a virtue.

Kind Regards

Perhaps you'd be better served in the 2nd hand market.

If anything, I'd accumulate until 500$ and then get a decent machine that can actually play game from this decade. If it is only for office type of stuff, then we can help you as well but we need more details.

What are you going to use the computer for? I think games are out of the question at that price, if you want a computer that can play games, then go to the second hand market, look on craigslist or ebay. If you just want to build something that can play music, surf the web and email, then it might be doable, but it would by no means be a great computer. Do you have an OS? If you don't then you are out of luck I think.
