Hi,

Let me first preface this by admitting I am completely out of my element in these forums and somewhat of a computer "dummy", but from what I've seen from other posts the members here seem quite knowledgeable.

I recently disabled my Intel HD 4000 graphics card on my desktop PC as under the display adapters tab it showed two AMD 7700 drivers as well. I thought because I had these I no longer required the Intel drivers so I clicked on it and disabled it.....

Well now my monitor stays completely black.

Any ideas on how to rectify this *** up?

I tried getting into bios upon reboot , and I'm not even sure if I'm doing that correctly ( pressed del button repeatedly), but the screen is completely black the whole time....

A couple things can cause this. Okay first, shut down the computer, then unplug the cord from the PSU (the power cord on the back of the computer) then hold down your power up button for thirty seconds, this drains all power from the system, sometimes it works. Next, re-seat your hardware, I doubt you'd need to re-seat your CPU cooler, but your ram and PCI devices, etc. You can also try putting your ram in the other DIMM slots, if you have any free. If you do move them around make sure you do it in order. Stick one would go in slot one, stick two would go in slot three. You can also try stick one in slot 2 and stick two in slot 4.

But does he have a dedicated GPU? He didn't specify, because sometimes you see weird drivers that aren't supposed to be there sometimes. But if he does you are correct sir ^_^

Yeah it turns out thats all I had to do...my hdmi cable had been plugged into the intel port the whole time.....this is how you learn I guess haha. Needless to say I am just now getting my moneys worth graphics wise.

Thanks again for your help.

Cheers
