want to build my own pc (first time) and looked at some parts to build it with and was wondering if all components will work good together and if I can possibly get some advice on it.

These are the parts I'm looking at:
Case: phantom NZXT 410
Graphics Card: ASUS Radeon R9 280 DirectCU top II 3GB
CPU: AMD FX-8320.... Maybe FX-8350 (if it's worth it)?
CPU cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97-EVO r2.0
PSU: CORSAIR TX 650W
Ram: Corsair Vengeance (2 x 4gb) DDR3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM
SSD: Kingmax SMP35 client 120GB

Going to use it for gaming as well as video editing, photoshop, animation etc. So thought I would put my OS as well the adobe suite on the SSD?

Thanks in advance guys!

Fury are good too, but Trident X are even better for video editing/ PS as they have more Mhz which matters alot in CPU intensive tasks like rendering/ PS/ etc. My suggestion:

Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($189.99 @ Newegg)

OR 2133/9 to save some bucks:

Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($179.99 @ Newegg)

That cooler is ok for medium OC but don't try 4.5GHz+ OC with it. I'd say a Noctua D14 or Dark Rock 3 are excellent ones for that job.

How abut the Kingston Fury?
They don't have a heatsink and it's a great company. 😉

Awesome! Thanks for the response guys, greatly appreciated!

And thanks for that RAM suggestion, didn't know that actually... Would that CPU cooler do the job if I were to look into overclocking my CPU?

Do you know a mobo that would be a better pick for around the same price perhaps? But 4.0 GHz is good enough, as long as the cpu cooler can keep up! And I will pick a solution yeah :)
