Problem:
On a Samsung Laptop with Windows 10,
Currently whenever I hit my left shift key it gets stuck and keeps inputting the number five until I hit a key to make it stop (no other key stops it, but the key needed to stop it keeps changing, it was the right shift key but now it’s the T key). The number five key does not work.
Fluff:
Woke up and turned on my laptop and as I was trying to log on my computer kept inputting the number five so I ran out of login attempts. A am currently unable to log in to my main computer since I need the number five to do so. Every fix I could find on the web to reset my keyboard needs both shift keys but I don’t think my left shift key is a shift key anymore. So currently I am stuck.

Look in Device Manager to determine what keyboard driver is installed.

Then go to Samsung's website to do a fresh download of the current driver or a newer version if available.

Other things to try:

Run the built-in Windows troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Also try "sfc /scannow" and "dism".
