HeLp !! Problems with USB Bios Flashback. How long does it take?? [ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha]

SUMMARY: I held flashback button for 3 seconds, it flashed. Then stayed on. It's been on for over an hour--hasn't turned off. Manual says light goes out when flashback is complete.

QUESTION: Is it still updating, done, or humperdinked???

Details: Downloaded new bios to USB per manual; inserted into marked USB slot, pushed marked button and held. Appeared to be working.

QUESTION 2: what do I do now? push the update button again? Kill the power and start over? Push the power on and see if I can get to POST?

polar papa you did not rename the usb flashback file right. the usb flashback will take 2-3 min of the port flashing then it turn off. if it blinks and turns off the file is not names right or the usb stick is not fat32 formated or the bios file name not in the root of the usb stick or the mb does not like your usb stick.

Smorizio--you could be right about fat32 or bios file. I know I saved bios update and renamed it correctly. So, it must be something with the USB drive. That particular drive was re-furbished and had a previous encryption partition so that may have been causing problems.

I was able to get it to POST by powering it up per alexiou's recommendation. Once posted, the BIOS updated loaded correctly from UEFI.

...now I'm tryign to get Windows 10 installed. It keep goign through the set up and restarting...then same thing. I've entered the product key about 6 times already and it loads, restarts, then asks for key again...

with windows install from usb key when it reboots pull the usb stick so it install the files it needs from the hard drive and not reloop.
