EDIT: Problem solved. just bought a HDMI to DVI cable now it works perfectly fine

hello everyone
yesterday i finally got my playstation 4. i wanted to connect my ps4 to my monitor in my bedroom. the monitor only has vga and dvi so i bought a hdmi to dvi adaptor. so i connected my ps4 and nothing shows up. i searched on google for a solution and saw that i need to turn of hdcp so i did that. still nothing... so i got an old monitor that was laying around which also has dvi and yes......that one works. but i don't want to use a 17" monitor while i have a 23" one anyone has a solution for this? the monitor i want to use is a lg flatron w2343t

thanx

yes the screen works perfectly fine because, when i use the same hdmi to dvi adaptor with my laptop it does show up on the monitor. the monitor is also set to the right input

Any chance to play a HDCP protected DVD on the laptop to finally sort that out ?

i already turned of hdcp because with the 17" monitor the ps4 doesnt work with that turned on so that can't be the problem i think? but when i disable hdcp there is still nothing to see on the lg monitor 🙁

There are typically two problems related to HDCP.: either it is not supported at all, like with your 17" or the handshake doesn't work. Handshake means the PS4 talks to your screen and tells it things like "only show the picture, don't record to USB" and so on. That sometimes doesn't work well with adapters.

but when i disabled it, it should have worked with lg one too right? or does the hdcp has to be enabled before i can use the lg one?

Honestly ? Who knows! I'm a bit surprised, that you can disable HDCP at all. I would expect, that this only works for devices that don't support HDCP, but your LG will send an identification string, that says it can.

just enabled hdcp but still no succes...

I'm running out of ideas, sorry.

if its a cable or adapter issue then why does it work with my other monitor?
