Help quick please :) Putting together a computer right now

Im putting together a computer right now and i have never done it before.

My problem is this:

Where are the screws for to fasten the motherboard?

I bought a lian-li case that came with alot of stuff (including the screws you use on the backside to keep the motherboard away from the case).

But where are the screws used to fasten the motherboard to the above mentioned "screw seperators"? In the Lian-li manual it sais "use motherboard screws" but I cant see those in the lian-li box, and i cant see them in the box the Gigabyte DS3 came with.

Any idea if they are just missing, or do i have to buy them seperately?

from the computers i've built these are the two types of motherboard stand offs i have used....these get screwed into the case and spaced to align with the holes in the motherboard.

I've always reused the screws from the computer I was replacing but I never got screws from a mobo or case, so I just asked the computer store for a bag and they gave it to me. Even if they won't give them to you, it will only be like $2.

They normally come with the case, but sometimes with the motherboard.

when i built my pc about 3 years back now (with a lian-li case) I definitely got screws either with the case or the motherboard, I think they came with the motherboard but as the others said you can easily pick up screws from a store for a couple of bucks or pounds.

As long as you have the spacers with your case you will be fine, just find some screws and get that sucker in there.

If you need anything else orr have more questions as your building post more to this thread and the peeps im sure will be willing to help.

I used the screws that were ment for the CD/DVD roms. There was like 30 of them, and i only needed 9 and they seem to fit fine. Makes me think they were supose to be used with the MB, but the bag is clearly marked 5,25" screws.

Heh you had me worried, if u couldnt find them, how were we supposed too?

sounds to me like you need to get off your high horse... Im sure the first thing you thought about when you built your first computer was to call up Lian-Li or Gigabyte and ask if they included screws with their case/MB since it doesnt say in the product info. Or maybe you even asked what the screws were labeled...

I did my homework. Other then these screws and a missing P4 connector on the PSU (split a 8 ) i had no errors or problems, and posting from my new system now

I would give myself a A- on effort and performance, a better grade that i ever got in school 😛
