Hi! i'm a poor artist who needs to switch from desktop to laptop.
I do a lot of 3d work, and 2d illustration (3dsmax gpu rendering, and photoshop painting).
As a freelancer I don't have much money and usually build my own systems out of used parts.
Currently I've been using a 2x gtx 770 4gb, with 3570k oc, and 16gb ram.
But i'll be traveling a lot so I need something mobile.

I have two choices.
Get a gaming laptop with a gtx 1060 or 1050ti. and then use a wacom tablet to draw with.

OORRRR
maybe you guys can recommend one of those 2in1 flippy screen laptops that has an actual gpu in it?
I'd love a surface book. It's the best in the world, but I can't spend more than 1k on this.

Honestly i'm hoping to get a used system for around 600-900 range...
gtx 1050-1060 would be great.
THANKS

Yes, i have a recommendation for you.

It's the Acer Nitro spin 5. It's a convertible touch gaming laptop with a GTX 1050 in it. That makes it one of a kind, though it's thermals are not great and as a result it's not meant for high end gaming. You might see fps loss but still it will outperform any non gaming laptop in gaming.

Also, if you can afford there is a 4K model of Hp spectre 15, it comes with AMD RX Vega M (GL) graphics which is eq to a 4 GB GTX 1050 Ti (Mobile)

Besides that, there is Microsoft Surface book 2 with 2 GB GTX 1050 or 6 GB GTX 1060.

I don't think you can game on a hp pavilion x360. Even it's top end model has Nvidia MX 150 which is nowhere near any GTX. It's screen is also not good.

Lenovo Ideapad 720s, yoga 720 and yoga 730 are pretty good options. The first one comes with 4 GB GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q and the other two, 2 GB GTX 1050 and all have Thunderbolt port.

just fyi. I ended up with an aw r3 15 with a gtx 1060.
Got it for $550 used. Figured I cold live without the touch screen.
i have a wacom tablet anyways.
