Hi guys, i have a few questions regarding choosing the right monitor for my personal home usage, hopefully you guys could help me out here. Thanksss!

Usage:
- FPS games
- Movies
- Excel life

Currently i have just bought a gtx 980ti and a few people had told me that gaming or even using it on a 1080p monitor would just be a waste. With this in mind, i went to look at other available options, i have budget up to arnd 800 - 1000 USD for the perfect combinations. These are a few of the options which i have in mind and i do hope for something arnd 27 inches or larger!

1. Dual overclocked Korean 1440p monitor (QNIX 1440p) 27 inches
These runs at abt $300 each

2. LG 34UM95C

Having an Ultra-wide screen seems to be something i am more inclined to nowadays, but the price is rather steep for a single 34 inch monitor and i am unsure whether it would be wise investing in a 34 inch ultrawide screen while there are 4k monitors out there. What do you guys think?

Appreciate any tips and ideas from you guys, thanks in advance!

Yes, I've looked at a 2560x1440 TN, and it looked blurry to me, so much for the increased PPI... However, look at the specs of the Z35. Yes, it's only 2560x1080, but it's using a VA panel. They've come a really long way, even recent VA that are 16:9 can't be argued for poor color reproduction anymore, they're basically IPS other than viewing angles. I think this one is going to change the market, but contrast isn't everything for most gamers it seems, though it should be a priority...
If you have the money, get Acer XB270HU or ASUS PG279Q (not to be mistaken with PG278Q, PG278Q is only TN).
Both are 144Hz 2560x1440 IPS monitor with GSync, you have all the good things you would ever want from a gaming monitor and your GTX980Ti is perfect for 2560x1440.

If you really want 21:9, well...my friend...ASUS PG348Q will come very soon or get Acer X34bmiphz

Wait for Z35 if you want ultrawide, though movies both streaming and discs aren't made for 21:9, so if you zoom, or whatever a program does for you, to get rid of the black bars on the top and bottom, you'll soften the image. Not to mention how horrible ultrawide looks in most games, even Fallout 4 and Battlefront didn't get it right. I recommend IPS over TN, unless obvious bleed, glow, clouding annoys you, then I would buy the TN.

IPS is better in image quality (contrast, color, etc.) and has the better viewing angle compared to TN.
usually IPS is slower but the new IPS panels is fast.
If you can afford them, there is no reason to go back to TN.

IPS bleed and clouding are reasons for RMA.
IPS glow is only visible from certain angle and only in really dark room.

I have been using IPS monitor as daily driver since years.
I am currently running my 3 years old Del U2412M and my new Acer XB270HU.
Honestly, I do not want to go back to any TN monitor.

2560x1440 TN blurry? I think you are trying to watch a 1080p video or play 1080p game on 1440p screen.
1080p will be blurry on 2560x1440 since the up-scaling is not good from 1080p to 1440p, namely factor 1.777777777778. (not as bad as people say tho')
This is not the problem of TN but the problem of the resolution.
It is not about TN or IPS..just scaling issue...
The scaling from 1080p to 2160p (4k) is a lot better, namely factor 4.

I do not exactly able to follow "in terms of gsync and vsync, are these very apparent in newer games or should i disregard these first. "

VSync has been around for years.
GSync is new.
Both are not exactly part of the game but part of your GPU, monitor and driver.
You should be able to run GSync on older games too. Well, There should be some games which behave strangely with GSync but theoretically, GSync should work with all games.
