Help Reinstalling Windows

So my PC began as a HP Pavilion, over time through out upgrades the only thing remaining from the original Pavilion is the Hard drive. I recently acquired an SSD, and would like to reinstall windows onto the SSD then reformat the original hard drive for general storage purposes. I do not have an installation disk, how should i go about this?

Do you have a legit product key? And is it Win7 or 8?

Do you have the ISO file for the OS? Are you wanting to transfer data or perform a clean install?

Yes, I have the product key for Windows 8. I'm trying to find a way to uninstall this copy of Windows, and use that product key to reinstall Windows on the SSD. I plan for it to be a clean install, everything wiped.

I could probably tell you how to do this if you had an ISO file for Windows 8... but I do not know how to convert your key into a usable form of Windows 8....other users should be able to tell you no problem.

I'm a Win7 user, so I can't vouch for the process. Never used it.
