I have a 2tb seagate external hard drive and the usb port has been playing up for while, if fiddle about with the usb cable i can get it to connect but it's getting worse so i want to move the drive to a new enclosure.

I watched a tutorial to open the enclosure but the ones i watched the drive sat in a metal caddy which was easy to slide out but wine looked different.

I took some pictures so hopefully they will show up.

Thanks i will give it a try.

The drive was already out of warranty so no harm done in that regard.

So my new enclosure arrived today so i had another go at removing the Drive and i cannot get it out.

It seems that the case was designed to lift out the drive as i can lift out 3/4's of the hard drive out of the case but from what i can tell the board that is connected to the hard drive is glued to the case. I don't see any latch or mechanism.
