I have a Dell Dimension 9200 that needs a video card. I\'ve been told I should get a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GC and a PCI Express interface. I can't find a 7900 GC card and have read that a 9600GT will work. I'm also reading that the 9600 GT is no longer available. What can I replace my card with and will I need an interface to use it? Are there any recommendations out there for this neophyte?

I know this is ancient but out of the list of cards that the person above said would work in my Dimension 9200 which is the best choice?

GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Radeon HD 7770
Radeon HD 7750
Radeon HD 6850
Radeon HD 6770
Radeon HD 6750

Trying to get 1 more year out of this PC, I am currently using an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS

I also have xps410/Dimension 9200 about 6 years old with upgrades to everthing. I too am trying to get a few more years out of my machine, it has been flawless for over 6 years. I just ordered the Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GHZ 1 GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/DP PCI-Express Graphics Card Radeon HD 7770. Based on the research I've done, I'm quite sure my power supply is capable of meeting the needs of this GPU. Here's a link that may help in your decision.

I have 2 Dell Dimension 9200 both running Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800 2.93GHz/8M/1066MHz Socket LGA775 Processor SLACP, 8gb ddr2 800 ram. One has a Zotac gtx 650 and the other has a Zotac gtx 760 (the Zotac 760 needed a PS upgrade), 2 160gb HD in raid 0. I have purchased some ddr2 1066 ram in the hopes that it will work. as of 12-22-13 I have the latest bios installed. These machines run very well and I have less than $500 invested total. One Machine is running win7 Ultimate and the other runs Win8 Pro.
