Hello, am new here but I've being using computers for a while, and this place is a cool place for information

I need to find an extremely good 2D graphics card for things like Illustrator, for about £250 - £500. It really should be AGP and it has to run dual monitors at the same time. It would be a tremendous bonus if this was a card with Mac and PC support as my boss uses Mac's and am trying to convert him to PC's.

You could try a <A HREF="http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/mill_g450/home.cfm" target="_new">Matrox G450</A> or a <A HREF="http://www.leadtek.com/geforce2mx/gf2mxdhpro.htm" target="_new">LeadTek GeForce 2 MX</A>. I don't think they support Mac though.

I would go for a Matrox G450 dual, and like the last post, I wouldn't bet on it being Mac-supported. This card is known for good 2D performance.

I dont know about mac support but the gainward geforce 2 mx twin view supports two monitors.

Thanks for replying people, I have also heard good things about the 2D performance in the Matrox line, but the G550 is out now, would that not be a better option? Also the prices are really cheap compared to most cards I have looked at, why so cheap?

Matrox cards have great 2d performance and Visual quality.They also have Good 3d Visual Quality but poor 3d performance(framerates).These cards are marketed towards the office upgrade cards.
If you look at maps all day and want to have two different maps on two different screens at one time and be able to work with each individually(or something like this) this is a good card.
This is not a GAMING card, but it will play most older games decently.

i cannot be certian, but I do beleive that the Radeon VE has a Mac Version, as well as a PC Version. i do not think that any hardware of this type will work in both machines as they use different the software and hardware completly different form the other.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
