So when I was playing GTA suddenly my screen starts flickering and I don't what's happening. So I recently find out what's happening I tried replacing the thermal paste but still the same btw the temps is around 48-51 C in normal. So my suspects are the psu and the gpu because I updated all the drivers. So my evidences are the psu watts which is 280 watts, next is the gpu because its used I bought a second hand because everybody's telling me to do so. Any suggestions? Because if not I'll just wait till I earn money and build my own instead of our pre-built 2011 lenovo pc(its our family pc).

Screen artifacts are the GPU, display cable (rare) or monitor. If it just happens when gaming then it is most likely the GPU. Try running Unigine Valley at max settings and check for artifacts. If you have access to a second monitor. Connect it using a different cable and check for artifacts with tests that consistently produce artifacts on the first monitor.

If the PSU was not able to handle your systems power needs the computer would suddenly lose power and cut off when the PSU overheats or detects an overload. Just like when you overload a circuit breaker. A poor quality PSU may not have sufficient safety mechanisms and be destroyed, take the computer with it or even cause a fire in the worst case.

Replacing thermal paste on the CPU would have no effect on artifacts.

I forgot to mention it happens when os started to load not during opening but after the welcome sign and it stays like that until I disable the gpu driver or lower the color to 16 bit. I also observed that it happens when a lot of color is present on the screen, so I lowered it to 16 bit but still when heavy color is present screen artifacts shows.

I tried removing it a couple of times actually. About the color I adjusted the color depth to 16 bit so that the artifact goes away. I also noticed something when the screen settings and the permission tab showes they aren't seemed affected by the artifact, it only affects the background. I'll try replacing the moitor.

You don't specify. When you remove the video card. Does the problem still exist when only using integrated graphics?
