HELP! Second monitor is showing no signal

Ok so i just got a new computer about a week or so ago. I try to plug in my monitor to my VGA and my hdmi por nand it will not work, it shows no siginal. So i have one of the 24 and one prong adapters for hdmi and that worked. So then i try to plug in my second monitor and its not working. I plug it into the hdmi (non adapted one) and says no siginal, Ditto with the VGA. I unplug my monitor thats in the adapter and plug it into the other hdmi slot (non adapted one) and it doesnt work! Please help! I am a streamer so this is really annoying! I need my second monitor!!!

If youre using a VGA to HDMI adapter it wont work. Unless it's an active adapter

No no no. I am using a hdmi cable on the hdmi port, and it is not working. So i was thinking hey maybe its just that port, So i brought in my monitor thats VGA and tried that on the VGA port and it is not workign either,

I tried to use only the hdmi and not the adapter and it didnt work.
