I am planning a new build around the i7-9700K and a 1TB M.2 Samsung 970 EVO (I have some i/0 intensive apps). Build will include 16GB of DDR4-3200 and an existing HDD although most of my data is on a QNAP NAS. Overclocking will be modest if at all and I'll use a very good air cooler (Noctua NH-D15). And yes, the case (Fractral Design Define R6) has the headroom. PSU will be EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2. All good quality stuff, I think.

I had been focused on the MSI MPG Z390 GAMING Pro CARBON. However, MSI are very mean with the USB ports and I'm thinking that will be a problem down the road.

So now I am looking to the GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS PRO.

Does this sound like a good way to go or would you suggest other options?

Hah, thanks for that but it was one of several sources that led me to Gigabyte 390 Aorus Pro. I agree it's a valuable compilation.

Certainly interested to hear if anyone has any good or bad experiences with that MB.
