Help setting up backup system

HI,

Looking at setting up a PC backup system.

Looking at getting 2 x 4TB WD Black drives but not sure where is best to place them.

In 2 x USB externals, an esata/USB multi case or a local cloud.

Any input appreciated.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a Qnap TS231P NAS with a 4TB Black WD drive. Setting it up now.

I do have on question though.

I have a couple of 2TB Seagate Externals attached to my Win 10 box and was wondering whether these actually ever turn off or are they spinning all the time. As I said they are just for backups which I do every night.
