I've been looking for ages, what speakers can i get for under 150£ in the uk that will be better than the promedia. These will be used for music and movies, so i would like a 2.1

Could you guide me through every part.

I will get from uk suppliers so uk sites only.

Thanks

do you mean the klipsch promedia 2.1 computer speakers?

they are not that great. while i was impressed with the build quality the speakers and subwoofer were a complete mismatch. the subwoofer completely overshadows the satelites even at minimum volume. besides the subwoofer issue, sound quality was about average.

a high end logitech set is going to sound just as good.

for 150gbp (236usd) you could get a cheap stereo amplifier and two bookshelf speakers. that will likely be a more powerfull and better sounding solution. its going to be close on budget but possible.

please do keep in mind that while i do have knowledge of home theater and stereo speakers i am by no means what i would call an expert. there are quite a few people on here far more versed in this subject matter who could likely give much better recommendations that i can.

with that said, here is what i found on ebay uk.

60gbp

total $149gbp both have free shipping.

afaik they should work together but do get a second opinion as i'm not a guru.

hopefully one of the more audiophile members of toms will stop by and offer advise as well.

its definitely possible to beat out the promedia for the price though.
