Hi,

I need some input from you guys. Basically I purchased a Samsung 840 evo ssd and installed it on my macbook even though the laptop is only sata 2 compatible, it still runs pretty fast.
A couple of days ago, I decided to buy a SSD for my PC as well because boot time was being sluggish so I decided to purchase the HyperX Fury 120gb because it was on sale and the guy at NCIX said it wouldn't matter performance wise between the Samsung 850 evo and the HyperX Fury, so I purchased the cheaper one. My PC is definitely faster now with my SSD as the main boot instead of the HDD, but not by much. I checked online and the reviews say the HyperX was never meant for performance boost and now I'm a bit upset that the NCIX guy told me it wouldn't matter. I should have just spent $25 more and bought the Samsung.

Now I don't want to go back to NCIX and pay an additional 15% stocking fee for exchanges and $25 on top of that. So my question is, should I replace the Samsung 840 evo ssd from my macbook to my PC and the HyperX to my Macbook since it is only sata 2 compatible anyways. I know you can only get 3gb/s on it and I'm not getting the full 6gb/s. So would my macbook be as fast with the hyperX as my Samsung SSD or should I just purchase another Samsung SSD and install it on my PC?

I don't know what to do!!! Will the performance drop from on my macbook from the Samsung ssd after I put the HyperX in there.

Thanks in advance!

If you like the EVO and your getting the performance you want and need then I would just go ahead and pay for the exchange.

You have to ask yourself what computer you will be using more, if you think you will be using the Mac more than the PC. keep the EVO in the Mac but if you think you will use the PC more switch the EVO over to it and keep the HyperX in the Mac.

Hope this helps
