Problem: The system had been running fine for a week and this morning it wouldn't start. The computer was on yesterday morning but must have shut it self down at some point because I never turned it off and it was not on this morning. Nothing happens when I try to turn it on. Absolutely nothing whatsoever. If I hold the power button down for 5 seconds then a blue LED will start flashing on the motherboard at about 2 flashes per second but that's it, no fans turn up, nothing. I tried running a different PSU to no avail. I tried resetting the CMOS as well. I'm at a total loss here. Any help is much appreciated.
Components:
MSI x99s SLI Plus
Intel 5820K
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2666
CORSAIR HX850i
CORSAIR H100i
Samsung EVO SSD
EVGA 970
update:
Tried a different GPU because I could and that also was not the issue.
Tried re-applying thermal paste with no change in results as well.
Attempted the "Bench it" guide with no success. Wouldn't even get past the first step so I feel it must be the motherboard or the CPU. As I can't test them, I'm forced with a best guess so I'm going to RMA the motherboard. I think it's a reasonable assumption given the circumstances and everyone's input...
