(help) the, 9600GT or 9800GT or GTS250 or 4770 or 3850 or 4670?

i'm buying a graphics card, and as normal, i've got to much Choice with all these GPU's Around.

so i want know which GPU is the best for Bang4Buck

If the choice were mine, i'd go for the HD4770 as 1st choice or the GTS250 as 2nd. Alternate choice if budget was a big concern is the 9600GT, but only if your budget demanded it.

Power demands are 80 watts for the 4770, 100watts for that GTS250 and about 75 watts for the 9600GT

My choice would be the HD4770. If you overclock it a little you get the performance of the HD4850.

If your main concern is best bang for the buck then

1st 4770
2nd 9800GT
3rd 9600GT
4th 4670
5th 3850
6th 3870


The 3870 is pretty overpriced since the 4670 offeres almost the same performance while costing much less. It's also usually a bit faster than the 3850. The GTS250 isn't looking too good from a value perspective when you compare it to the 4850 and 4770 unless Crysis is your main concern.

No big argument with megamanx, i'm just not too fond of the single slot 9800GT, i've found them to run hot and noisy.

i have a 550 watt PSU, which Should mean i could just about scrape it with the GTS250. i use to have a 3850 and if your comparing to 9600GT, i'll probily get the 9600GT. i use to LOVE my 3850, shame it blown up on me.

i don't see how more preformance then the 3850 could be a great benifit. the 3850 played COD5, Racedriver GRID,
Battle forge, HAWX, BURNOUT PUB , elven legacy, WSC 09 and Fifa on the highest setting with the 16X AA and 8X AS (the games that allowed it) and with V-Sync, without any lagging what so ever. Crysis is the only game where i have to put it on meduim for graphics but i still had 8X AA on and it's not like meduim is crap on crysis

my 3850 was quite weird though. it was dual slot almost the same to that 3870. it had this sweet Cooler on it, Xtreme III i think it was. NICE. i miss that card.

i've read about the 4830 and the core speed is way lower the the 650 MHz of the 9600.
i know a gpu is just to do with MHz but it's 20 quid more?

my only concern is with the 9600GT that, compared with ATi cards, the software is VERY low. my old 3850 had 4.1 shader these new Nvidia cards only have 4.0

and my 3850 had DirectX 10.1 and these new Nvidia cards don't.

but ati stream processors dont do as much work as nvidia stream processors
so dont count ati sps against nvidia sps.

Okay. I went to buy the 9600 online with my plastic over on novatech. I went there and it has seemed to be remove from there severs and don't have it. Everywhere else 4 the same gpu is 80 quid. I rather pay out 74 for the 4770. Dead end again

Yeah the HD4770 is better than the HD4730 but apparently the HD4730 is better than the 9600GT(as we can see in the picture that is in the link I put before.
