First you need to buy RAM in kits, even if they have the same model number, the ICs chip might be different e.g. Samsung vs Hynix. You can always try but make sure you can return the RAM. Also make sure the RAM you are buying is in the QVL memory compatibility list of you motherboard. Buy the same RAM model and revision/version in the QVL list.
