Help to choose a card (please!)

I have an old Aureal Advantage Vortex but the driver is only a beta for Windows 2000 so every once in a while my audio cuts out and I have to restart it to get it back. I want to get a new card but nothing like a Platinum 5.1. Just something that is decent, cheap, but reliable. Thanks

Soundblaster Live Value seems like a good buy. I see it mentioned often in reviews. It is around $50 now.

Yes, and Turtle Beach has some great cards for cheap, as well.
