Update your post to 1) provide full hardware specs and OS information and 2) explain what specific problems are being encountered.

What has happened or is happening?

The log may be helpful but more information is needed.

I scanned through the" hijack this" log just to get an overall sense of things.

However, without knowing more about the system and the specific problem(s) that are occuring the log is of limited value.

Difficult, for me anyway, to recognize what is good, bad, or indifferent.

Missing files noted. Unknown owner files? Many tabs open?

My primary take away is that there seems to be lots of apps/processes, etc. running. Either launched at startup, opened by you, or perhaps triggered by Task Scheduler.

What is the problem? What is or is not happening as expected?

Do you see any error codes, warnings, or even informational events being captured in Reliability History/Monitor or Event Viewer?

My thought is that there has been some file corruption - just to hazard a guess.....

Try running "sfc /scannow" and "dism".

FYI.

If all is running well then leave things alone.

In other words: "if it ain't broke then don't fix it".

That said, I do understand the desire to determine if system performance can be improved. I.e. "optimize".

Study the system, components, and current performance without making any changes.

Use Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer (Microsoft, free) to learn about your build and how it is currently performing.

Once some specific problem or issue (a "bottleneck") is noted then look into possible solutions.

First being maybe some configuration changes. Remove, for example, rarely used applications being launched at startup.
Task Manager > Startup tab.

Second being some software/driver upgrades.

Third being some hardware change: more memory may prove advantageous. Or changing from a HDD to SSD.

As always, be sure that all important data is backed up at least 2 x to locations away from the current host system. Verify that the backups are both recoverable and readable.

Then make changes but only one change at a time allowing time between changes. Keep notes on what is changed (old value, new value) and where the change was made. Just in case a "do over" is needed. :)

Key is to understand if there is some specific change or or changes that will make a performance difference.

Then plan out how to implement the changes along with some means to show that performance actually improved. May or may not be obvious.

And possibly, again, not worth the effort and potential risks.

are the hard part for me..

Why is that the hard part?

Just watch. Observe. There is no need to immediately understand everything or to do anything barring some real problem that occurs.

If something gets your attention or you are otherwise just curious then research ("google") accordingly.

However, the world being as it is, look for multiple sources for more details and explanations.

Hopefully, credible sources....
