Help upgrading Dell Inspiron 560 graphics card

I want to upgrade the graphics card in my Dell Inspiron 560. Currently, it is using the stock integrated graphics, which, as we all know, are pretty bad. I've already done a good amount of research and have found a few possibilities, but I am in need of further assistance.

I believe my PC has one pci-e x16 slot available. The stock power supply is 250w. I have come across these options:

-Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102969 )

Which of these would you recommend? Will I need to upgrade my PSU?
[My current budget is sitting around $115 tops]

Would you recommend any other video cards or PSUs?

With a few rebates (and at least a 400W power supply), you should aim for a Radeon X770 series.

If your budget is tight and you don't want to get a power supply, you'll have to get an older model GPU like a GT 440 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814551002 ), but won't perform as well. It's good you're not trying to play BF3 (that's my case). Any other specs?

I'm in the same boat, bro. 250W, however, isn't too powerful. If you could provide what it is you are trying to do, that would be helpful.

I am looking for something in a moderate range. Nothing too great--I can save time to play games like BF3 (graphics heavy games in general) on my brother's Ps3. I want something that I can play a few games that aren't available on consoles with. Namely, things like Starcraft 2. I know that it doesn't require much, but there are some other things I'm hoping to run. My friend has recently started playing Day-Z which I'd like to join him in. In general, just a card that will last me a while playing lower-end games, but with potential to look pretty good on some more graphics-centric games.

Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around all of these different specs and required upgrades, haha. Thanks for the help though

Nothing else in particular. I'll check out the gt 440.

I actually think I can afford both of those after the rebate. I'm going to look into it some more, but I think I'll likely go with your suggestions. You've been a huge help. Thanks!

Definately go for a GPU with 300W recommended PSU. Just go into one you'd like and check the specs. NOT THE TDP, the recommended PSU. Don't bother getting a cheap PSU, it might fail and screw up your computer.

Another suggestion I have would be a 640. They are newer but require the same power. Bit more pricey, but a little more worth it.

Just another idea. No clue on how well you'd perform? Just google "(Graphics card) (Game)" So like "GT 640 Starcraft 2".

By one slot as in 1 PCI-E X16 or one slot in size?

Yes. There are no cards on the market that require more than one physical slot. Although larger cards only require more SPACE, they don't require more than one PCI-E X16 slot, but they may cover a slot without using it.

My PC's processor is a pentium dual core e5700, 3.0 ghz. For some reason it was listed as 'not available' under my computer properties, but I figured it out. I still can't see how much RAM I have there, however. I might go ahead and add some RAM while I'm at it, too.

No problemo, friendo. I've got the minimum RAM which is 3GB, that's probably what you have. It's ok, but more is generally better. If you want to check your specs, try out piriform's speccy (the free one). Just google speccy. It gives you everything you need know.

Hey man, i also have an inspiron 560. I just upgraded my power supply to a 500 watt and i wanted to upgrade my graphics card to a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 but it won't fit!! It fits in the mb slot but there is not enough room in the case..also when i try to push the card all the way into the slot it is stopped by something in the back, i think it's called a capacitor? idk what it is but it doesn't go down into the slot on the opposite side of the part that holds the card into place. Anyways i'm pretty frustrated and i just want to know what are some sure fit cards that WILL fit for sure into my computer. My budget is about $110..

Wow, very timely response, no, I just joking. That is why I setup email notifications and created one email account only for forums, works like a charm.
Anyway, trevonious did not provided full model name, so don't blame yourself, it is all his fault, LOL. How can we advice without knowing the parts...
