Hey guys,

I've been using HD 6870 for the past two years and thinking of upgrading it to a better one. My budget would be $150.

Here's my rig

AMD FX 8350
Cooler master 500w
Gigabyte 78lmt-usb3
8gb ram 2x2 and 4x1
1tb Toshiba Internal Hardisk

Thinking of getting a used MSI 660ti or a new 750ti.

Feel free to suggest anything apart from this.

So if i get a MSI Nvidia 660 ti and run with the same psu, it wont run stable ? If the 500W is not enough, should i get some other ? Suggestions ? I just bought this PSU like 4-5months ago.

If you not OC CPU PSU will handle , GeForce GTX 660 Ti have also TDP 150W.

Simple in very heavy load your PC + 660Ti can need 350W - 400W now depend what model PSU you have ( is a few from this company ratted as 500W ) you can be ok or you risking PSU failure.
What model PSU ?

Lets see 12V line 456W this is 14% reserve 😉
PSU ratted as tier 3 * not for seriuns gaming - source :http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I personal prefer 20-25% power reserve on PSU for longer use, but your PSU can handle task, anyway PSU life spawn can decrease, but this is another issue 😉
And do not even thing about OC on this PSU- until you do not want sniff burning PSU 😉

Another matter your PSU have separate air flow ?

Well the PSU is faced downwards and my side panel is open always. Do you think 660ti will be fine with the current PSU ? Or the one which you suggested "Radeon R7 265" ? Bytheway No ideas about Overclocking.
