Help upgrading processor in a Inspiron 3847

So I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 with a pentium g3240. I have purchased more ram(8gb) and a 750 Ti SC. However I want to know if I can swap the current processor with a i3 4150. According to the manual the pc can support a 4th Gen i3. If I try swapping out the pentium will it work?

My bet is yes, it will work. Chances are good you could instead get a 4th gen i5 or even i7 for it and it would work.

I had a great feeling it would and I'm exited about it. Your right I could go with a 4th Gen i5 or i7 and I'm still considering it, but I'm kind of on a budget due to buying 170$ worth of other stuff already. Thanks
