[SOLVED] Help upgrading RAM

Hi all,

I am wanting to upgrade my RAM from my current Hyper x Fury 2x4Gb DDR4 2400MHZ to 16Gb

My problem is I'm not sure what arrangement to have. Ideally I would keep my current RAM to save money, time and effort.

Do I go for...

- Another 2x4Gb

- Another 1x8Gb

- 2x8b and selling my current RAM and if so what would be the advantages of this.

Was just wondering about the speed. I would just get a new set of 2x8GB because RAM is only guaranteed to work in the kits it’s sold in. If you get another 2x4 set it may cause issues

Those kind of combinations have no guarantee to be compatible together.

Yup, they’re only guaranteed to work as sold. They might work, just not a great spot to be in if they don’t

Well that's decided, going to get two sticks of 8 at 3200MHZ and sell my two 4's so I get a capacity and speed upgrade
