HELP, URGENT

I connected everything up to do an external build. Attempted to use the screwdriver on the PW to boot it up. And BANG, the power supply makes a noise and starts to smell.

Have I literally just fucked everything up? I'm freaking out...

what power supply did you buy? you may have not damaged that other parts but if you got a faulty psu than you may be able to RMA through the place you bought it.

If you hear a loud bang and stuff smells, usually it means the PSU is gone, yes.

With any luck the power supply was just defective. Lets hope you did not hit other pins with the screwdriver.

I would definitely return that power supply. Leave out the part about using a screw driver to boot and get a new one.

Sorry for the language guys, I was just freaking out..

I took all parts to the local PC shop, he tested and all parts are fine. It was just a bad PSU. This is my first build and to be the unlucky one, well it was quite a shock; thanks for the replies guys!
