Hi All!

I've been looking all over the web and have tried all the suggestions but can't seem to find a solution. So I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Here is my system spec:
AMD 64+ 3000
ASUS A8V-E
Sapphire X300SE
Hyundai L90D+ LCD
OCZ 1GB Dual Gold VX

Here is the problem I'm having. Whenever I install the drivers for my video card and reboot, I get as far as the Windows XP screen then the screen turns black. I notice the LED on the monitor goes from orange to blue (blue is normal). I know Windows is loading cuz I can hear the Windows login sound. I can boot into Safe mode and VGA mode without any problems. I have used both analogue and digital but still the same problem. I originally thought it was my video card so I replaced it with the same card. If I boot into VGA mode and make any changes to the display settings (resolution, color depth, refresh rate, etc), I immediately get the black screen. I have tried installing the latest drivers from ATI and Omega but still no luck.

If anyone can suggest anything else I would greatly appreciate it. This is driving me off the wall right now. I'm in need of some serious help. Thanks in advance.

Is this a new build or did you "upgrade" to this video card? How did you go about installing the drivers? If this is a new build, then in what order did you install all the drivers (mobo, video, other PCI cards)?

Boot into safe mode and remove all ATI drivers and the Catalyst control center. Restart into safe mode and manually install the video card drivers - not the control center. Restart and see if that fixes your problem. If not then let us know...

This is a completely new system.

Well, I have tried what you suggested but still no luck so I decided to reinstall Windows XP SP1. Reinstalled the motherboard VIA 4in1 drivers, DirectX 9.0c, then ATI drivers but still the same problem. Any other suggestions?
