I just got a V600, and am trying to download some mp3 ringtones I've made
myself. I've just edited a regular mp3 songs to a short clip, 15-20seconds,
save it in same mp3 format. I then uploaded it to my website(don't have
data kit nor bluetooth for my computer yet) to then go to my website from my
fon and then download it to my fon, it will actualy download, but after
download fon will say unrecognized file...?

Does this need to be in some special mp3 format?

Anyone know how(if) this can be done?

Thanks in advance

Hmm, one way is to just use the app at myPhoneFiles.com that converts and
sends ringers to phones straight from your desktop.

Motorola's own "Phone Tools" works great via Cable or Bluetooth.

Mike,

I'd recommend going to Best Buy -- this week they have a D-Link
bluetooth "dongle" on sale for $20.00 after rebates! It plugs into a
USB port, it's about the size of a key-chain and gives your desktop or
laptop bluetooth functionality. I've been able to transfer both
ringtones to the V600 and pull pictures off the phone to the PC. I'm
running Win98 SE and it states it works with the newer OS (xp, etc.)

I actually had just bought the Linksys one just before the sale ran,
for $50, but unopened, took it back when the Sunday ads came out. If
you were going to use other devices with your PC, I think the Linksys
one might provide better range, since the RF (antenna) construction
seemed well-designed. But I just needed it for the phone.

In fact, I was kinda impressed by the quality of the pics when you
look at them on the PC. The phone will show up in "bluetooth"
neighborhood in Windows Explorer.

Have fun.
