Question Help wanted with LG 34UC88-B

I purchased this monitor and it works fine however during start up it keeps showing a message "(Caution) Make sure to use a supplied displayPort and HDMI Cable." Do I really need to connect both cables to my computer towel for this one monitor? I haven't been able to find the answer to this question anywhere. It does not seem to affect performance but will the monitor burn out if I do not use both cables?

The screen will most definitely not burn out. With your display, i don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with one cable only. If LG has provided you with some cable like HDMI or DP, I would recommend that you use it.
