Question (Help) What should I upgrade on my pc?

Hi guys,



Looking at spending around $500-$1000 upgrading my pc a little.

As I am not the best with building computers, I'm seeking your expertise.



Current build:

i7-3770

16gb ram

gtx 970

sound blaster x-fi xtreme audio

The motherboard is a tiny litte thing that the guy at the pc store said is fine (He replaced my good one because it was faulty with this).
He mentioned the motherboard doesnt really add any permformance, so I'm assuming I should upgrade this first.

I think it's a 550w psu as well.


I'm based in QLD, Australia.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Switch to SSD? are you using SSD already? - this is the single best upgrade you can do!
new PSU? (550W is fine, but how old is the current one)
new GFX card? (the 970 is fine so long as you want to play @hd)
what case do you currently have? what size case is it?

Do you want to switch to modern CPU? the intel i7 3770K is a very good CPU even today.
