Hey there! Im looking for some advice.
Currently I have a i5 4460 and a GTX 1070.
I want to upgrade the CPU. I was thinking on Ryzen 5 2600, then I saw i5 9400f and I can't really decide. Which matches better my GPU? I wont be changing the CPU for at least 3 or 4 years, so I need to make a wise choice. I would definitely buy a 3600 but I can't afford it, so that's my budget.

Thanks for any answer! <3

Edit: I will use it JUST for gaming. Remember that I wont be upgrading again any time soon.

Ryzen 2600, hands down.
The only non-hyperthreaded cpu worth a darn is the 9700K. You should look up in game benchmarks of the 9400 and other such 6c/6t, and 4c/4t cpus.
They all suffer with high frame time lag once all their cores are fully saturated. Not too many titles use 8 cores yet, that's why the 9700K is still fine.

All that said, the 9400 would pull ahead of the 2600 when games don't use all 6 threads - it has higher single core performance over the latter.

I'd save for a week or two longer and get a 3600. It's an amazing CPU and I haven't found any faults with it so far in any game.

Problem with the i5 9400f is that Intel doesn't have hyper threading on their i5's. That's an area where AMD has them beat completely.
