---* EDIT: Latest Information *---
I am looking for a laptop my daughter can take to high school and use in class throughout the day (so portability and, more importantly, battery life are something that is a considerable concern).
We need one will that be usable for four years (so reliable, durable, and won't be ancient before she is out of high school).
So thin, lightweight, good battery life... no problem right? Wrong. She also wants it to hold up to gaming demands.
Looking at the games she likes, one of them says:
Absolute minimum = Intel i5-4460 & GTX 770
Actually need at least = Intel i5-8400, & GTX 970
Smooth performance = Intel i7-9800X, & RTX 2080
So, which of the following (or something thin that's not listed) is the best balance of performance and battery life:
Razer Blade 15 Adv.
RZ09-03304E42-R3U1
15.6" 300Hz Full HD
Intel Core i7-10875H
GeForce RTX 2070 Super
Razer Blade 15 Base (4.6 lbs)
RZ09-0369BE22-R3U1
15.6" 144Hz Full HD
Intel Core i7-10750H
GeForce RTX 3070
MSI STEALTH (3.73 lbs)
XoticPCSKU#713666 15M A11UEK-220
15.6" FHD 144Hz
Intel® Core™ i7-11375H
GeForce RTX™ 3060
MSI STEALTH (3.73 lbs)
SKU#713517 15M A11SEK-210
15.6" FHD 144Hz [140+ FPS]
Intel® Core™ i7-1185G7
GeForce RTX™ 2060
MSI SUMMIT (3.64 lbs)

I am having trouble discerning what laptop processor is equivalent or better than desktop processors. (When software lists required specs, they tend to only name desktop varities.)
I am looking for a reliable, quality, thin, and lightweight (15" or, preferably a 17") laptop that has the equivalent (or better) than the following:
Intel i7-9800X or better,
(at least) 8GB VRAM NVIDIA RTX 2080 or better,
32 GB RAM,
150GB (or better) SSD.
These are a starting point. I am willing to go better performance than the above if it does not exceed $2000.00.
In the past, I have had laptops with desktop components in them, but they were very heavy and very thick. I am looking for something more portable that equals or exceeds the specs above. Does it exist, and if so, what do I want?
1. What is your budget?
$2000
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
17" and thin
3. What screen resolution do you want?
Less important to me.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
As portable as possible for a couple with at least the performance of an Intel i7-9800X.
5. How much battery life do you need?
The more the better.
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
The latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Mild video editing for fun, not intense.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
Dunno
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
I don't care, looking for good recommendations. I've had good luck with clevo/sager in the past.
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?
4 years
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need?
Optical not needed.
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I just want the most reliable machine I can get that is pre-built.
13. What country do you live in?
USA.
