Help, Wifi connected, no internet

So I got my sister a refurbished Asus laptop as an early Christmas present. Nothing fancy, just something she can write on and browse facebook. When I first set it up for her everything was fine, but she came back a few days later saying she couldn't connect to wifi anywhere.

I got on Google and tried by best tech support but nothing has worked. I've reset and re downloaded drivers, tried other wifi APs, flushed the dns, went through a bunch of netsh cmds, cleared the cash, edited registry permissions, reinstalled win 8, upgraded to win 10, and i even bought a USB wifi dongle. Still no luck.

Please help, I'll try anything.

It should work, unless there's a problem with the router (MAC filter enabled, or something similar), or an installed firewall.

well thanks, it should work out of the box. ive already checked the router settings. the MAC filter is empty. the only firewall i use is windows firewall.

yep, all phones connect without issue. macbook pro works fine, so does my xbox and my apple tv. desktop can connect with usb dongle and via pcie wifi card. ethernet works on all computers

I dont have hotspot service on my phone, but i tried connecting to a different access point and still no luck.

I checked the BIOS, everything seems to be in order.
