my garage is about 100 feet from my house, i have an ethernet cable going from the modem(in house) to computer(in the garage) the internet works fine with the ethernet cable when hooked directly into tehe computer but when i unplug the ethernet cable from the computer and plug it into the router i can connect to the wifi, it says connected but i have no internet, is this eithernet cable to the router able to work and if so what am i doing wrong? and do i need an access point if i have a router???

Solution
An access point is ideal. Your router might be able to turn into one.

It's likely the 2nd router is setup on the same subnet as your first one.

If you go into the routers settings and change the subnet to 192.168.2.0/24, assuming the first one is 192.168.1.0/24, it will start working. Plug the LAN cable into the WAN port.
