HELP!windows cannot access the specified device path or file windows xp

I’ve just install windows xp and everything works fine except i cant open certain control in control panel such as display and appearance or user account and I can’t even install .exe file or open exe file or even use command prompt

Everything keeps popping up windows cannot access the specified device path or file

Some show opening exe file shows Rundll32.exe while installing.exe file shows c\ocuments and setting\administrator\( ).exe
And opening control panel settings just shows s control panel on top off the pop up but the same message ‘windows cannot access the specified device path or file you may not have access

And im using administrator account
So can anyone help me on how to fix it ?

I'd wipe it and re-install

Yeah, it sounds like something went awry when you installed XP.

Where did the XP media come from?

Barty1884 i just download it from the internet and boot from easy2boot since my laptop. It won’t read the boot cd and it was missing NTLDR

Microsoft, AFAIK, do not provide an ISO to create your own media - and anything randomly obtained online may well have all sorts of issues (incomplete, malware embedded etc). In most cases, nobody is uploading XP media for free without getting something out of it.

from soflay.com windows xp sp3 full version...is there anyway i can download windows xp in iso or windows 7 from microsoft?can i use windows 7 on a celarom4 512mb ram laptop?
