...in anything but safe mode. Gets to the black load screen then short circuits back to the bios.

New system and had it up and running for most of the day. Just finished getting windows sp 2 updated on it and now it won't restart. Don't know if it is the update or the fact that I wanted to look at something in the bios when I was letting it restart after installing the sp 2 update.

Don't know what to do, can't get it to do anything but safe mode.

Here's the system...
AMD X2 4800, Asus A8R32 MVP deluxe mobo, Raptor 150, plextor 760 dvd (mention this because it started acting funny after I installed it's software plextool pro).

Help!

Thanks. Thought of it, tried it, wouldn't let me uninstall in safe-mode. Solution I finally ended up with, fresh install, start over, begin with bios update for the mobo, so far, so good.

Yeah, I had a problem with my A8N-E where XP wouldn't recognize the board correctly and installed the wrong, non-ACPI HAL. I had to update the BIOS then redo the XP installation with format before everything worked.
