Hi everybody,

I have a 2Wire 2700HG-B Gateway modem. About 7 months ago, we moved things around in the apartment and I had to connect my girlfriend's pc to the home network through a wireless tp-link tl-wn821n usb device.

Everything has been working super fine until a few days ago. Now it keeps disconnecting or won't connect at all and it can't find the network. We haven't moved either the modem or the usb device, and nothing has moved in the apartment that could cause an interference. My own computer, which is connected directly to the modem, via wire, still connects fine.

I was wondering what could possibly be causing this... Does anybody have a suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Plug the TP-Link adapter into your own computer and connect to the wireless. See if you get the same connection problems (remember to unplug the wired connection when checking this). If so, you have a faulty adapter.

What you suggest seems like a very logical step. Thanks. I haven't tried yet, or answered, because I've been in bed with fever since last Friday. I'll try to get around to it tomorrow.

In the meanwhile, my girlfriend says that unplugging and replugging the tp-link device seems to re-establish the connection... If that's so, it would also indicate that the problem might come from there, and not from the modem at all.

Thanks again.
I'll keep you posted.
