Question Help! WItcher 3 FPS

I have a new iMAC with m295x gpu. I am trying to increase my fps during gameplay. Any hints??? Should I focus on the in-game settings only? Will messing around with AMD Catalyst Control Center help me out?

What is your current FPS? What settings are you currently using? Have you tried turning detail levels down to increase your FPS? And what's your monitor's refresh rate?

Yes I am messing with different detail level settings. In battle and busy villages, it still is at max 32 FPS. I am not sure what the refresh rate is. I am running 8.1 bootcamp on my iMac? Could you inform me on how the monitor refresh rate has an effect on game performance/fps?
