ok so i recently discovered that my HDMI cord was only running at 60hz for my monitor. I have a 780ti and a Asus VG248QE 24-Inch LED-Lit Monitor which is suppose to run at 144hz. So i look around and display port cables run at 144hz ( i was told this by multiple sites and people) so i ordered these from amazon.
Plug them in and nothing.. still 60hz. am i missing something here? http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Gold-Plated-DisplayPort/dp/B005H3Q59U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425353916&sr=8-1&keywords=display+port

go into the control panel and click on Appearance and Personalization > Display > screen Resolution > Advanced settings > Monitor. Make sure that the refresh rate is set at 144hz.

I know I can only get 144hz on pc? But it looks different? color wise. just wondering what the actual difference in these settings are. pc vs ultra hd stuff.

EDIT :im getting this from my nvdida control panel. Under change resolution, I recently changed from an HDMI cord to a display port as i was told that 144hz would not be achieved through HDMI. after changing it to 144hz it changed from the 1920 x1080p (native) (top pic) to the PC 1920 x1080 (second pic) and i saw a visual difference between the two. Was just wondering what the difference actually is.

Pick the Ultra HD, HD and SD one. The one that says (native). Or are you not allowed to change it to that?

Try it in the Windows control panel.
