Salutations fellow forum members! My friend is upgrading from a pre-built system for the sole purpose of gaming at 1080p, and he sent me a text with what he's worked out so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xgw4bv
While this is a good starting point, I felt that it could be refined to the best bang for the buck with your help!
Things to note:
-He's transplanting the hard drive and ram from his old pre-built, so those don't need to be worried about
-He will, however, need a power supply. I'm not well knowledged on which power supplies are best quality/bang for the buck, so help with that would be appreciated
-The CAP on his budget is $700 USD. We live in the states, and he has Amazon Prime, but shipping costs will factor in if shipping from elsewhere(I know PC Part Picker auto-calculates it, but he was very... forward about the budget concerns)
-If we could keep the case selected that'd be preferred, but not a necessity
-And finally, while I did tell him AMD is the best way to go for cost/performance, he insists on Intel and Nvidia hardware only
I tried to squeeze in a 970 here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PhWnD3 but it doesn't leave much budget for a power supply, so I don't know if it's feasible.
Either way, any and all suggestions are appreciated! Thank you for your time.
