I need help building a computer that I will hopefully complete by the end of February 2016. My budget is around 2200 us dollars(live in Florida) before rebates. It will be used almost exclusively for gaming and I want the best possible parts for the price range. I don't give a crap about looks. I would like windows 10 included and a monitor that will have a refresh rate of 75 hz or higher. I prefer Nvidia and Intel but if there are much better options I will go with those. I might overclock in the future if necessary and I'm open to sli. The reason I'm upgrading is...well I'm trying to game on a HP laptop with Intel HD 3000 graphics, 4 gb of ram, and an i3-2310m cpu clocked at 2.10 ghz. As of right now this is what I have thrown together: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hq2qf7 Any help is appreciated as it is my first build.
Edit: I will be wanting to play games such as Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, GTA 5, Ark, and future games such as fallout 4 at a smooth 60fps or higher(hopefully higher to take advantage of a 144 hz refresh rate if I get a monitor that supports it).

If you are spending that much money on a computer, do yourself a favor and get a nice monitor. 144Hz 1ms 1440p is ideal IMO. A 1440p IPS panel is nice too. I have the ROG Swift and I love it. But it's also really expensive..

Your build looks great. No real concerns there :). There isn't much of a need for 850W though. The 750W version of that PSU would be great too.

The 980 Ti is completely overkill for 1080p. I would say that it is a perfect example of a "sweet spot" card for 144Hz 1440p gaming.

A game like Crysis 3 @ 1440p with a 980 Ti will run about 54-60FPS.

Yes, the i7-6700k was announced today. So you are going to want to be looking at that CPU, with a Z170 motherboard and possibly a different cooler. (Likely not though).

Also, buy yourself some nice preipherals. The Corsair M65 is a great mouse. A nice mechanical keyboard would be good too. Anything made by Corsair, Cooler Master, Ducky, or Logitech is usually a safe bet for keyboards. Do not buy a Razer keyboard. Mouses and anything else yes, but no on the keyboards.

I'm content with my current peripherals but I'll look into your suggestions. Should I really change to the 6700k though? Since I have plenty of time I guess I'll see, but the 4790k seems like it'll last at LEAST another 6 years...but then again I'm not a proffesional I was just wondering if the higher price would be worth it.

Well right now, you know as much as me about the 6700k 😛. It only makes sense to buy the latest and greatest thing. You are going to be building in February and by then the 4790k will be almost completely faded out. Everyone will be building with the 6600k and the 6700k.

I see what you mean, Thanks!
