Spending towards Skylake would be a nice investment , you get more PCI lanes than Haswell ( The CPU still gets 16 on Skylake however the chipset gets 20 so you could still SLI and have a pcie SSD like the 750 from Intel with Hyperkit) which is a major talking point as well as DDR4 ( the gains over DDR3 in games are minimal ) . If the money isn't an issue I'd say go towards Skylake and invest in a heavy duty gaming pc capable of doing almost everything ( like gaming , video editing , multi-tasking , streaming ,etc ) , just bare in mind that in a gaming scenario the GPU is the biggest talking point so make sure you invest in a great GPU that's capable of delivering your needs .
