APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: about a month BUDGET RANGE: around 800 - 900$ (taking into account that we have about a 10% markup here locally

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, 3d/video rendering, some audio rendering

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor(debatable), speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg, but only as a reference, as we are not based in NA

PARTS PREFERENCES: AMD+gigabyte (dont really care if the gfx card is ati/nvidia)

OVERCLOCKING: probably SLI OR CROSSFIRE: will depend on whats available down the line

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024 or 1920x1080

pretty much it

AMD Phenom II X4 940 190$

G.SKILL Trident 4GB 60$

caviar black 640 75$

either a antec 300 or a CM 690 55$ or 80$

now my real question is about the psu, locally, the most available brands are corsair and silverstone

from the corsair lineup we got, the 400cx, hx450, hx520 and hx620 and then skip the 650tx and 750tx, but do have the hx750 and hx850

and for silverstone we have, st400/st40f (400w), st50ef plus (500w), OP700 Olympia (700w) and a 750 decathlon

the psu will most likely depend if it can take all the said components and a 4890/gtx275 xfire/sli set up (at the most)

and those choices are between ati 4870/4890 or nvidia 260/275, although i am leaning toward the 4890

taking my main choices of

phenom 2 940 $190
G.SKILL Trident 4GB $60
caviar black 640 $75
CM 690 $80
Corsair 750HX $165
4890 $200

im at $880

anything wrong with all of that?

orginal budget was $1K, but had no monitor

ps, any good suggestions for a cpu fan? im looking at AC freezer 64, or a xigmatek darknight/s183, anything else i should look out for?

thx for any advice

*on a side note, what is the lowest PSU i need to run a single 4870/4890 with all that? i ask because xfire/sli isnt really a big priority, im just stepping up the psu for that "incase" cenario that i want to do multi gpus

and i know may of you will ask why i chose that ram, reason being is that its one of the named brand/models available here locally, (for about $8 less i could get team xtreem ram, a japanese brand widely available locally)
That setup is pretty good...

As for the CPU cooler, drop the AC Freezer...
The Xig are the better options...
Another very good one - Scythe Mugen 2....

For a single 4870/ 4890 - Any 500W PSU from those 2 brands can easily run them...

RAM - Stick with it...
